New Media, Hashtags and Activism

Monday, 30 October 2017 - 8:30am to 9:00am

New media has been central in modern activism, especially for people of colour who continue to be misrepresented and under represented by mainstream media. We listen to a panel discussion about the prominence of new media in asserting the voices of people of colour from Footscray Community Arts Centre's, 2015 West Writers: Our Stories Forum.

We hear from founding editor of Future-Black Linda Kennedy, creative producer of Sovereign Trax Hannah Donnelly, and co-founder of Still Nomads, Samira Farah. The panel is moderated by founding editor of Ascension Magazine, Sasha Sarago.
