The Victorian AIDS Council / Gay Mens’ Health Centre has its roots in gay rights activism of the 1970s, and throughout its 30 year history activism has defined the organisation. From facing the stigma of an unknown disease amidst a largely homophobic society, to promoting safe sex and health awareness campaigns, this is a dynamic history.
