Cathie Bond is a Victorian refugee advocate, artist and a contributor and organiser of an exhibition in Geelong titled Out of Darkness. Through painting, textiles and sculpture, among other mediums, it aims to show how refugees deal with their flight from persecution and how they try to cope with the cruelty and inhumanity of Australia’s policies on asylum-seekers. We talk to Cathie about her work and the exhibition.
