Radioactive Show 30.03.2013

A History of the Radioactive Exposure Tour, Thirty Years On. We celebrate 30 years since the Radioactive Exposure Tours began in 1983 with the historic Roxstop protest festivals at Olympic Dam uranium mine in SA. Roxstop 1983 kick-started a tradition that continues to this day. That tradition is called the Radioactive Exposure Tour. This week’s show digs into the history of the ‘Rad Tour’ and unearths some snapshots of a 30 year history that spans many life-changing campaigns to protect country from uranium mines and radioactive waste dumps. We speak with Ila Marks and Eric Miller and hear some special archived audio from 2004 when the Kungka Tjutas won against the Federal Government and stopped a radioactive waste dump on their country.
