Iain McIntyre will be taking over Tuesday Hometime with a series of programs Twee Toy Makers And Melting Faces focusing on different aspects of 1960s psychedelia including-
30/12/08- UK Psych (Unreleased and rare tracks from the likes of The Beatles and The Move through to obscure acts like Velvett Fogg and Elias Hulk)
6/1/09- Texas Psych (In spite of its redneck reputation the Lone Star state produced a fertile psychedelic scene in the late 1960s. I’ll playing sets from The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, The Moving Sidewalks, Bubble Puppy, The Golden Dawn, Lost and Found and The Red Crayola as well as dipping into a few garage tracks from the mid 60s).
13/1/09- Australian Psych (I’ll be playing many tracks and artists detailed by Ian Marks, myself and others in the Tomorrow Is Today: Australia In The Psychedelic Era, 1966-70 book plus playing a few recently unearthed obscurities).
20/1/09- UK Psych-Folk (In much the way that The Band, The Byrds and others rediscovered and reinvented country music in the late 1960s Steeleye Span, Pentangle, Fairport Convention and a host of lesser knowns gave new life to Mediaeval standards and styles. This show will cover the heavyweights as well as tracks from acts like Mellow Candle, Loudest Whisper, Midwinter and more).
27/1/09- Weird and World Psych (A bit of a hodge podge mixing psychedelia from Latin America, Africa and Asia as well as Europe
