Thursday, 1 April 2021 - 11:30pm to Friday, 2 April 2021 - 12:30am

Bruce Hearn was the vocalist, trumpet and harmonica player in the Strange Tenants, Melbourne's great ska band who were a fixture around the Australian pub rock scene in the  early 1980's.

In 2019 Bruce Hearn recorded a loving tribute to Woody Guthrie with his band the machinists   - live at Melbourne's Athenaeum theatre with special guests Eric Bogle, Mic Conway, Margret RoadKnight, Kerri Simpson, Jan 'Yarn' Wotitzky and the Union Choir.

The recording was released as a double album in 2020 on ISKRA records and Bruce introduced several tracks from the album on a previous edition of And And This One's Introduced By... on 3CR. You can listen to it HERE: https://bit.ly/2PqLg0n

In 2021 Bruce is back with a new double album, The Word Is The Music The People Are The Song , consisting of 10 of his own songs and 10 interpretations of some of his favourite tunes including his versions of songs by Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton and of course Woody Guthrie. Bruce Hearn is here to introduce a few of songs from the album The Word Is The Music The People Are The Song.

Bruce Hearn is my guest on And this one’s Introduced By... with Paul Elliott on Planet X on Thurs 01/04/21 at 11.30PM on community radio 3cr. 3cr.org.au
