Bloodied noses, car crashes, police harassment and jealous boyfriends were just a few of the hazards that faced the beat groups who roamed Australia during the mid-sixties. Despite these obstacles, perhaps because of them, a number of homegrown acts came to epitomise the down and dirty sound of the Antipodean underground.

In the original Wild About You book authors Iain McIntyre and Ian D Marks profiled thirteen largely forgotten rebel rock bands revealing what it was that made their music so timely and controversial. Released in 2004 by Melbourne Community Radio Station 3CR, and featuring a cover and CD design by Adele Daniele (responsible for the logo and backgrounds you see here), the book and accompanying tribute CD quickly sold out. Thanks to the web skills of Matt Legde all of the chapters of the book plus extra photos and graphics are now available along with the songs from the tribute CD. Enjoy!
