A sounding board about health, exploring ideas from a variety of alternative, progressive perspectives. It looks at the relationships between conventional Western medicine - which has dominated Australia's health policy and theory - against new healing methods and the Ancient philosophies, which have served people for centuries.
Second Opinion listens to the people behind the statistics who are the community experts when it comes to feeling the effects of economic and health policies. The programme also supports the idea that there are many viable alternatives to complex, expensive and often harmful technology. These simpler, cheaper and more accessible options fit people's ideas of more sustainable communities, where universal, free health care is also valued.
