This week we pay tribute to Dennis Banks, Ojibwa from Leech Lake, who dies on the 29th Ocotber at age 80. He was an activist, educator and writer and co-founded the American Indian Movement in 1968. He was involved in and organised many sacred walks and runs, enacting an ancient Native American tradition of bringing a message of "Land, Life and Peace" from village to village on foot.
Today we’ll hear excerpts from recordings by and interviews with nuclear-free campaigners who have run or walked alongside Banks.
Recordings by Gem, Crunch and AC.
