Independent journalist, Kim Bullimore, has recently returned from the Occupied Palestinian Territories, where she has been living and working for over 12 months since early in 2007.

Since 2004, Kim has also been a volunteer with the International Women's Peace Service (IWPS), the only all women international peace team, to be based in the Occupied West Bank.  IWPS provides international accompaniment to Palestinian civilians, documents and non-violently intervening to stop illegal human rights abuses against Palestinian civilians and supports acts of non-violent resistance to end the brutal and illegal Israeli military occupation of Palestine and to oppose the Apartheid Wall.

Over the past four years, Kim has written extensively on the Israeli-Palestine conflict for a range of publications and web-journals, including Palestine Chronicle, Adelaide Voices, Al Majdal, Green Left Weekly and Direct Action, reporting on the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the Palestinian struggle for human rights, justice and self-determination.

As part of this public forum, Kim will present an overview of the current political situation and latest political developments in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and  Israel and the prospects for peace in the region.   This public forum will also provide an opportunity for discussion about how we, in Australia, can promote solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for justice and national liberation.
