Beats 2 Benefit Gig - a fundraiser for the Famine Feed Project
Saturday 26th of April
Laundry Bar, 50 Johnston Street, Fitzroy
Elf Tranzporter, Carlos 'Kobya' Panguana,
Milan Perkins, Cold Sweat and The Conch. Tickets cost $12, 100% of
proceeds guaranteed to the farm.
All of the funds from the ticket sales of this benefit gig
will go towards helping us build a farm on our orphanage in Kenya.
The International Humanity Foundation (IHF), a non-religious,
non-political grass-roots organization, cares for 88 orphans in
Nakuru, Kenya. In November 2007, our local volunteers and children
began to farm a small area of the orphanage's land to help provide
food for the orphans. All extra produce that isn't used by the orphans
is given to the Pokot tribes on our monthly famine feed drives.
The International Humanity Foundation dedicated most of the 14 acres of land for a vegetable garden so that the organization could provide food for the orphans, the monthly famine feed drives - that serve the desert tribal communities, and the poorest families in the area.
The food is farmed and distributed by volunteers and staff from four
different tribes. This helps bring the community together and build
the foundations of Peace. For this reason the farm is known as the
"Tribal Peace Farm".
