3CR Community Radio exists as a direct counter to corporate media and is a vital source of innovative and independent content. For 36 years 3CR Community Radio has brought you environmental, indigenous, women’s, ethnic, union, music and other community programs that you won’t find anywhere else.

3CR’s annual Radiothon runs from 4 - 17 June. The station is financially supported by our listening community. This year we are trying to raise $210,000 to cover operating costs. 3CR is celebrating May Day 2012 with a special broadcast on Tuesday 1 May from 7am - 12 noon. Each year on 1 May people from around the world join in celebrations to mark the achievements of workers while recognising the fight for equity in the workplace is far from over. There'll be news and views from local and international workers as well as all the details on events happening on the day and analysis of recent achievements through union activism.

The labour movement in Japan and OHS issues (April 28 was International Workers Memorial Day) in the Fukushima disaster Featuring Chie Motsumoto, unionist and activist from Japan.

9:00am IndeArts with John Harding
Discussion on the Stolen Wages Campaign with Brenda Croft, a Gurindji woman who organised the Gurindji anniversary Festival last year up at Wave Hill. Pier Moro Asia Pacific Worker Links with a brief history of May Day and upcoming events. Dr Thalia Anthony (UTS). Thalia has been involved in public interest litigation regarding the Indigenous stolen wages.

11.00am - 12:00pm Stick Together with Elena McMaster and Ben Covey. Featuring a live cross to Occupy Oakland for Mayday 2012 and "Rebuilding the Union Movement" a live panel discussion featuring: Dave Kerin, Anthony Main and Cindy O'Connor
