The weekly program of the Hepatitis C Council of Victoria. Hep Chat is the antidote to what you may have heard about hepatitis C in mainstream media and is still Australia’s only regular radio program talking about hepatitis C.
In English.
Each week Hep Chat looks at the latest news on hepatitis C with a focus on how it affects you in the real world and always with an eye on how the community can work together to increase understanding of the virus and combat the stigma that all too often surrounds it.
The program also acts as a central point for the services that exist around hepatitis C, and as a forum for workers in the field to share information about latest discoveries & trends about hepatitis C.
Among the issues we tackle each week are: discrimination, harm reduction, treatment, prevention, community education and drug law reform. We look at these issues (and others) with the point of view that people with hepatitis C are people, not statistics. Hep Chat gives a voice to people with hepatitis C and their families and puts the human face on a much-misunderstood condition.
The Hepatitis C Council of Victoria represents people with hepatitis C, their carers, partners, family and friends. HCCV works to promote greater understanding and support for people with hepatitis C through advocacy, education, workforce development and providing up-do-date information on the virus from around the world.
