Surrey Hills Sustainability Expo 2008

Spend Sunday the 9th of November with Rod Quantoc, educators, renovators, builders and gardeners.

The Governor Prof. David de Kretser AC will open the event. Vox Bandicoot, environmental entertainers, will contribute to the rich mix of fun, and performances. We’re spreading the word about a clothes-swap ‘Fashionista’ - for young women to try their luck swapping high quality fashion clothes.

An expo with food, demonstrations, debates, and competitions for kids has been created by a local group to demystify and make sustainable living accessible.

Where: Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre & Bedford Av opposite Surrey Hills Station
When: 9th November 2008 between 11 am and 4pm
Entry: a Gold Coin Donation for a great show bag

Bedford Avenue
will be car-free so a market can setup and musicians can play. Greenlink and the South Eastern Permaculture community groups will be hosting tree planting and retrofitting workshops.  Solar suppliers and installers plan to demonstrate their latest wares, and Water wise Systems are presenting a workshop on grey water: The secret to a green garden – How, when, why?
