Roola Boola is an innovative new arts festival designed for children aged five to 12 years old that encourages the audience to interact with, and participate in, the performances. Roola Boola will entertain children with puppetry, theatre, pop and brass music, magic shows, circus performances, workshops and musicals. Children will meet the performers and be given the opportunity to participate in a combined concert featuring performers from across the genres. Performing throughout the festival is Luigi Zucchini a goofy Italian who weaves plenty of corny quips through his one hour magic show – and Rapscallions, featuring members of St Martins Youth Arts Centre performing crazy improvisational games and encouraging imaginative play, improvisation and verbal and non-verbal story telling. One of the highlights will be Polyglot Puppet Theatre performing Muck Heap, which has toured internationally and is a fantastically messy tale of two people cleaning out their shed. Children are expected to bring their own lunch.
