Established in 1848 the Royal Horticultural Society of Victoria is 170 years old this year. This is a great achievement for any group but for a voluntary, non-profit body it is exceptional. We are likely to be the oldest such group in Victoria. Unlike most such groups we have no paid staff and work on a fully volunteer base. We represent some 20,000 Victorians and 30,000 throughout Australia. Our history is that of a vibrant community group, contributing greatly throughout to Victoria and wider horizons. Our society established Burnley Horticultural College as an example.
On the 16th June we will have a special day called the “Gardener’s Day Out”. We will have 400 gardeners and others all enjoying what they love.
It is a general excuse to have fun and enjoy gardening. A flyer is attached for your info. Jane Edmanson, Stephen Ryan and Attilla Kapitany will be present and it is just a good day for a gardener in Winter.
It is open to all and is remarkably cheap at $15 to attend.
If possible could we get some air time before the June event (ie to encourage bookings).
Love to discuss it with you and possibly arrange a time.
We know the programs limitations and requirements and can work with you.
Please let us know either way.
