Malalai Joya, the courageous Afghan parliamentarian, will be in Melbourne in July to launch her book ‘Raising My Voice’.
She is the voice of democratic Afghans, heroic in her representation of ordinary Afghans. Malalai was suspended from parliament in 2007 for
speaking out against the many parliamentarians with extensive human rights abuse records and has been under threat of death since that time, surviving three assassination attempts. Her heroism has
been recognised worldwide and all have a chance to hear and support this inspirational, extraordinary, young woman at a fundraising dinner for her.
This is an event not to be missed!
