Port Phillip Urban Fresh Food Network (PPUFFN) is hosting its first public forum for 2010, to be held at the Port Phillip EcoCentre, St Kilda, on Tuesday 27 April from 5.30-7.30pm.
The event will incorporate a twilight session of guest speakers, food/garden share and swap opportunities, as well as an inviting supper which is free of charge for all participants.
Join other local residents, community groups and businesses to hear how our guest speakers from City of Port Phillip and Friends of the Earth (FOE) are working to make Port Phillip more edible.
Find out about Council’s latest ideas for developing community gardens and help shape policy by contributing your own. Discover more about the enterprising and food-focused community hub which FOE is creating in South Melbourne and how you can get involved.
After the forum, from 7pm, enjoy an earthly supper prepared in the Eco Centre’s kitchen from both garden fresh and locally donated produce - sustainable eating at its best!

Stroke can affect anyone, at any age and stage of life. Stroke is the largest cause of disability in Australia, and the second largest cause of death. It can be an extremely traumatising and life altering occurrence. The Stroke Association of Victoria presents a photography exhibition exploring life after stroke, and the encouragement and inspiration tha many Victorian stroke survivors have found during their recovery process. Life doesn't not end after a traumatic event, it is only changed. The Stroke Association of Victoria offers and provides ongoing support, advice, referrals and information to Victoria stroke survivors, their families and carers. We encourage and support people in reclaiming life after stroke. The most significant service that is provided are the many stroke peer support groups. These groups offer community, support and encouragement by peers who's lives have also been affected by stroke. 'Recovery' is an exhibition of photographs taken by Stroke Association of Victoria's stroke peer support group members, sharing their stories and experiences of inspiration in their lives after stroke. Rebuilding the Refugee Rights Movement

Rudd went to the 2007 election with the promise of a humane refugee policy. He did so because the refugee rights movement that emerged in the Howard years became powerful enough to influence politics in Australia.
Labor’s decision to suspend processing new refugees arriving by boat from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka is a continuation of the previous Howard Government’s racist refugee policies.
Both major parties are scape-goating refugees to distract attention from their neoliberal policies.
