'Midsumma Festival' returns for it's 22nd year in January 2010
Sunday, 17th January to Sunday 7th February 2010 Midsumma celebrates queer culture in Melbourne. Melbourne's annual gay and lesbian festival, is a federation of arts and cultural events spread over six municipalities and located in over 60 different venues across Melbourne. Pissed off about sexism, racism and homophobia? Worried about climate change? Appalled by the growing lack of housing affordability and inadequate tenants rights? Grossed out by the cost of childcare? Fed up with ridiculous workloads on the job? There is an alternative to a world where war seems endless and profit rules. It’s called socialism — the replacement of capitalist rule by a genuine workers’ democracy — and it will guarantee full economic, social, political and legal equality to all who are exploited, oppressed and repelled by the existing system.
