A discussion forum with Pamela Curr and Setyo Budi presented by Indonesia Solidarity Forum and the University of Melbourne Indonesian program.

Tuesday 8 December, 6pm, University of Melbourne, Cussonia Court-Room 2 - Ground floor Old Quad. 

Speakers:
Pamela Curr. Long term refugee rights activist and the Campaign Coordinator at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Australia: externalising borders and aping the Gaddafi/ Berlusconi agreement. Human rights trampled by political skulduggery. Has Australia lost the plot? What can we do?

Setyo Budi. Indonesia solidarity activist and presenter on 3CR's Asia Pacific Currents. Indonesian attitudes towards their government's refugee policy. What is happening inside Indonesia? Linking with the Indonesian refugee rights campaign.

Study Circle on Marxism and the right of oppressed nations to self-determination ...

Tuesdays, November 10, 24 and December 8, 7:00 PM

The Freedom Socialist Party fights for self-determination for Australia’s Aboriginal nations. We believe that therecan never be a just society on this continent while its original people remaindispossessed of their lands.  Whatdo we mean by self-determination and how does it apply in the 21st Century? Find out! Join this three-session study of what constitutes a nation and whysocialists fight for the liberation of oppressed nations around the globe.

The study group commences Tuesday 10 November and continues 24 November and 8 December.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm for a $7 donation and sessions commence at 7 pm.

The venue is the Solidarity Salon, 580 SydneyRoad, Brunswick. Take an Upfield Line train to Anstey or a North Coburg tram toStewart Street. Plenty of free parking is available at the rear. Enter from Staley Street.
