Fashion as communication

Thursday, 14 September 2017 - 6:00pm to 6:30pm

"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months." That's Oscar Wilde on fashion, and this week Communication Mixdown, with Sean Ryan from the School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT University, unpacks some of the ways that fashion can be thought about as a multilayed, historically located mode of communication.

Thursday 6:00pm to 6:30pm
This show casts a critical eye on the myriad ways in which we communicate with each other in our increasingly interconnected, multi-media platform world. Each week we mix down the who, the what, the where, and the how of particular communication events, messages, trends and technologies, and then consider: what impacts and what consequences?
