Malaysia’s Sedition Act from 1948. An archaic piece of law that is increasingly being used to silence free speech, and especially, political and electoral opposition to the ruling UMNO party. Ambiga Sreenevasan is a Human Rights lawyer from Malaysia and spoke at a Public Meeting at Melbourne University on Saturday 5 October about the Sedition Act of Malaysia and its use against dissidents and activists.
